In other words, how come video games are so much better on PS3 or XBox or Wii, etc.? Why can't they make equally good games for the computer so that I don't have to have both a computer and a game system?

Because computers are designed to do a variety of things while a platform is designed for one purpose only. They also are designed to run on your HD tv which has a better resolution than the common computer CRT/monitor. The more lines of information you can get on the screen the crisper, clearer the image…its not just processor or bit size. Even if you made a game with the same 128-bit graphics, without a screen that can handle that much info, or renew the monitor lines, it will still look really bad! Attach a PS3 to an old color tv and you will see the quality drop as well.
Now why do you have to buy seperate games for each platform? The same reason you have to buy seperate programs for Win & Mac…different languages, different ways of reading the info. You can find "emulators" for some platforms which will allow you to play your disked games on your PC, but the quality is low because of the nature of your computer to do so many things at once whether you know of it or not). PC games rely on your computer to keep certain programs for multiple use so disks don't need to store that data (such as Quicktime, macromedia, etc) - that's why you can have Win/Mac disks…Platform disks need to carry all that information for EACH game, which takes up so much room they couldn't put a second game language on there if they wanted to. Some PC games are switching to DVD formats, in some cases it helps resolution but mostly it just keeps you from having to do the "floppy disk shuffle" but still it would not hold enough information to get more than one platform on them.

I've heard that the Playstation 3 systems that are now in production have no backwards compatibility with the original Playstation and Playstation 2 games. I've also heard you can install software to add backwards compatibility, and then I've heard others refute that statement. What is the deal? I want as much detail as possible!

The only PS3 that can't play PS2 games is the 40GB PS3.

All of the PS3's avaliable can play PS1 games.

The 20GB and 60GB PS3's can play nearly all PS1 and PS2 games because of the Emotion Engine chip hardware.

The 80GB PS3 can play around 75%-80% of PS1 and PS2 games because it uses Software Emulation.

And as far as I know, you Cannot install backward compatibility with PS2 games on the 40GB PS3 by just installing software. Sony made the 40GB PS3 unable to play PS2 games.

they're both made of plastic. my brother has a regular and i have a DS lite. the lite has a way brighter screen and is much easier to see in the daytime. it's also thinner and more compact, so it can fit in your pocket easier. the stylus is also thicker and easier to hold and use. they both play the same games. the biggest difference is the screen.

The wii has so little memory, its kinda stupid. I guess thats one of its major draw backs. But if anyone knows, can you please tell me?

You can transfer save data and channels (inlcuding VC games) to SD cards. You just can't transfer them to another system.

You can also delete your VC games, and if you want to play them again, you can re-download them for free, and still have the save data from them.

Anyway, I want to sell it now to my friend because the Wii can play gamecube games also. Do you think that 35$ is a good price to sell it at with three controllers (one is wireless) and a memory card? My gamecube looks new and has no problems with it (This is because I'm very careful with it). So what do you think?
it also has that gameboy thing on the bottom so you can play gameboy games

I say raise the price up to at least 60-75 dollers. Your selling a good amount of things so try to get your money's worth.

I have and adapter but its not strong enough to reach the signal from my wireless router. I cant move my xbox to my computer room but I do have a laptop that gets the signal fine that i can have in my room. How can i make Xbox live happen?

just hook up the ethernet cable from your 360 to to your laptop. Once you do that, on your laptop, go to control panel, then network and internet connections, then network connections, right click on your internet connection, go to properties, then advance and check the box that says "allow other users to connect…"

Basically enable the internet on your laptop to share its connection

Please do not tell me to purchase Eyetv, Eyetv only lets you use your mac as a screen for when you play video games, it does not record the game.

If the game you are playing is on your Mac, then you need a screen capture utility…

Some do single screen shots - which you do not want. Others end up capturing QuickTime movies of the screen - which is what you want…

http://www.pure-mac.com/screen.html

Or… if you have a game console, you will want three "y" cables… 1 for video, one for left audio, one for right audio.

Plug the "y" cables into the game console. One side goes to the TV like normal, the other side goes to a Canopus video converter
Then a firewire cable connects the Canopus video converter to your Mac. Launch iMovie or FinalCut and import the game play…

USB based video converters will not work.

Reality is that in our year 2006 more retail shops are opening up. More video games rental stores are appearing every month around the block. And the truth is, that thanks to that offline competition we can save a little more when we make a games purchase. But what if I would really want to buy wholesale games. What if want to start my own retail video games rental store anytime soon.

Would I purchase video games and the accessories that come with each console at retail or perhaps at the so often 10% discounts from many local or Internet stores? Of course I will not. There is no way someone could make a profit from purchasing merchandise from retail. At least, not the full profit potential you may have if you purchase in the lowest possible price- the wholesale games price. We can still make a profit if buying at retail prices, but rest assure it is going to be a very complicated profit day if deciding to go in such route. Most businesses online that sell tangible items do not get into their full profit potential because they are either buying from the wholesale video games distributor or in general words, from the incorrect wholesaler or supplier. Once we start business, we must have the right people and the companies to back our small business success and such business entity long-term value.

So, how do we get the most out of wholesale video games purchases or out of the wholesale business itself? It is very quite delicate, but interesting indeed if you pay close attention. Before even starting to purchase wholesale merchandise in singles or in bulk, we must plan ahead of what may very well be our number one priority when making a tangible sale, both online and offline. If your company primary business plan is to focus more on quality rather than price, you may do very well with a games distributor or wholesaler that is not the cheapest in the market. Buying low to sell high is usually ideal in strong competitive markets like online auctions. It will all depend on the product itself. However, you can choose the famous route of what many other online and offline stores initiate. Such stores buy low without thinking of quality and then at the end sell high. The market and the niche or sub-niche that you select will tell you what prices are suitable for your wholesale business and what prices are not accepted by the consumer.

Dealing with wholesale video games in bulk can make impressive profits. Can make you a very well living depending on your knowledge and education, yes indeed. You can either open an online store and sell the newest consoles when getting distributors and wholesalers that not many people know or perhaps, that not many people start using or you can open an offline video store and make even bigger profits depending on the location of such store in the community.

Today there are many people making a living out of the sale of tangible wholesale items both at eBay and offline. Many are making thousands of dollars doing something that they love and have a passion doing- playing video games on the weekends and selling them at their own home-based-business online store. When given the opportunity many wholesale games opportunity seekers just want to save a few dollars, others want to invest in their financial future further on. In what would you invest today? I knew the answer for that years ago, I hope you now discover yours soon enough. Mine is to buy and sell video games whenever I have an opportunity. Would you be the next to profit from wholesale?
